ABOUT ME
Designing learning with people and purpose in mind.
I'm an instructional designer and learning experience designer who enjoys turning complex information, ideas, and challenges into learning solutions people can understand and use.
My work sits at the intersection of learning, technology, creativity, and systems thinking, with a focus on designing experiences that are thoughtful, practical, and grounded in the needs of the people they are meant to serve.
MY PATH
From understanding people to designing how they learn.
- Psychology
- Instructional Design & Technology
- Healthcare & Medical Education
- Learning Systems & Process
My path into instructional design began with an interest in people: how they think, learn, communicate, and respond to the environments around them.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology before completing a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology. That combination continues to influence how I approach my work today: understanding the learner first, then determining how content, technology, and design can work together to support meaningful learning.
My professional experience has allowed me to apply that foundation across healthcare and medical education, supporting curriculum, e-learning, multimedia, learning technology, faculty and stakeholder collaboration, and the operational systems that make learning possible.
Over time, my work has expanded beyond developing individual learning products. I increasingly find myself asking broader questions:
- What problem are we actually trying to solve?
- Where is the process breaking down?
- Is training the right solution?
- What would make this easier for the learner, facilitator, or organization?
Those questions continue to shape my approach as an instructional designer, one who can move between learning design, technology, facilitation, multimedia, and systems-level problem solving.
HOW I THINK ABOUT LEARNING
Good learning starts before the course does.
Before I begin building, I want to understand what people actually need to know, do, or experience differently. That means looking beyond the deliverable and considering the learner, the environment, the problem, and the desired outcome.
-
Understand Before Designing
Before selecting a tool or building a course, I want to understand the learner, the environment, the problem, and the desired outcome.
-
Design for Application
Learning should help people do something, not simply consume information. I look for opportunities to incorporate practice, reflection, interaction, discussion, and realistic application.
-
Use Technology Intentionally
Technology should support the learning experience, not become the learning experience. Whether I'm using an LMS, Storyline, Rise 360, multimedia, live polling, or another platform, the tool should serve a clear instructional purpose.
BEYOND THE COURSE
Sometimes the learning problem isn't a course problem.
My instructional design work has also strengthened my interest in the systems surrounding learning and organizational performance.
I've worked on projects involving workflow design, intake processes, technology integration, structured data collection, reporting, and process improvement. These experiences have reinforced an important lesson: sometimes the most useful solution isn't another training.
I enjoy examining the larger environment around a problem and determining how learning, technology, communication, process, or a combination of solutions can improve the experience.

WHAT I BRING
A multidisciplinary approach to learning design.
-
01
Instructional Design
Turning learning needs into structured, purposeful experiences.
-
02
Learning Experience Design
Creating engaging, learner-centered experiences across modalities.
-
03
E-Learning Development
Developing interactive digital learning experiences using modern authoring tools.
-
04
Facilitation
Creating opportunities for discussion, reflection, interaction, and application.
-
05
Multimedia Learning
Using video, graphics, presentations, and media to make information clearer and more engaging.
-
06
Systems Thinking
Looking beyond individual deliverables to understand the larger environment, workflow, and process.
BEYOND THE SCREEN
Creativity doesn't stop at the course.
Outside of instructional design, I'm a writer, creative, and lifelong learner. I enjoy storytelling, video production, and finding new ways to communicate ideas. Those interests often find their way back into my work, influencing how I think about engagement, clarity, and the learner experience.
